Welcome to the CIBM Lab
Our research typically begins with observing large scale recordings of gene expression, morphology, or physiological activity of brain cells. We develop methods to analyze these rich datasets and theorize about their implications on how the brain works. Sometimes, analysis takes on a life of its own. We try to follow it fearlessly to navigate the brain jungle.
Some recent themes include multi-modal data analysis, conformal representation learning, biologically plausible theories of learning, automated segmentation of neuronal morphology, cell types and neuromodulation.
We are located at the Allen Institute, where some of the most comprehensive neuroscience studies are conducted with a “Big Science, Team Science, Open Science” approach.
