Welcome to the CIBM Lab
Our research typically begins with studying large scale recordings of gene expression, morphology, or physiology of brain cells. We develop methods to analyze these rich datasets and theorize about their implications on how the brain works. Sometimes, analysis takes on a life of its own. We try to follow it fearlessly to navigate the brain jungle.
Recent themes include multi-modal data analysis, theory of synaptic credit assignment, segmentation of neuronal morphology, dynamical models of population activity.
We are located at the Allen Institute, where some of the most comprehensive neuroscience studies are conducted with a “Big Science, Team Science, Open Science” approach.
